Human Rights Defenders 

By photographing human rights defenders of our time, The People’s Portfolio aims to create a new set of cultural heroes who bring awareness to contemporary human and civil rights abuses, which they fight against relentlessly.

This project developed out of Platon’s collaboration with The National Center for Human and Civil Rights. The new institute, which opened summer 2014 in Atlanta, features Platon’s work as a centerpiece of the global human rights exhibit. 'The People's Portfolio Wall', a specially designed 36-foot long mural of portraits, is a part of the permanent exhibition.
